About This Show

From Slovenia, Horse Puppet Theater presents Ubu Rex, a strange parody of Shakespeare’s Macbeth that became a cornerstone of the Theatre of the Absurd movement. Written by Alfred Jarry, this performance tells the story of Pa Ubu, an old man set on conquering Poland by any means necessary, and a personification of the darker side of mankind.
