Tiger at the Gates

About the Show

The Trojan War, the Mother of all Western Wars, spawned the Mother of all Western Literature. What if, at the dawn of western history, there had been no epic poem of the glory of war, but rather a passionate plea made by a warrior for a story of peace? What would have happened had the Trojan War been avoided? Could it have been avoided? In John Arthur Lewis’ production of Tiger at the Gates (originally titled The Trojan War Will Not Take Place) the Gates of War are omnipresent, threatening to open at any time. Because war is always threatening. And peace is always longed for.
