The Idiot Box

Naked Eye Theatre Company presents the world premiere of The Idiot Box, Chicago writer Michael Elyanow’s dark comedy, a hit at Naked Eye’s 2002 New Plays Festival where it was first workshopped. The play follows six sitcom characters, whose lives are shaken to the core when reality crashes into their perfect, lily-white world. As the artifice of their lives deteriorates, each of the characters discovers some powerful truths about race, gender, love, sexuality, and what it means to be safe in America today.
