The fairy tale classic Pinocchio gets a new spin in Marc Robin’s imaginative, musical version. Geppetto is a wood carver who has brought joy to many people with his work. His latest piece of work is a magnificent puppet he names Pinocchio. One night after completing the puppet, Geppetto wishes upon a star for Pinocchio to become a real live boy. Wishes can come true – and so comes a visit from The Blue Fairy.
At the same time, a cricket by the name of Hopper is assigned to be Pinocchio’s conscience. Having life is one thing but to become a real boy, Pinocchio must prove himself honest, fair and true. Unfortunately, when he breaks his promise his nose begins to grow and grow – leading to a challenging test of his true character.
Music, lyrics and book are by Marc Robin, and the production is directed by Michael Hendricks.
There are three special Monday performances on Oct. 4, 11, and 18 at 10am.
