Chicago Opera Theater’s 35th anniversary season opens with Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. While absent from Chicago in more than a generation, this towering masterpiece has made a resurgence in the rest of the world, most notably last year at New York’s Metropolitan Opera as well as at the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center. The New York Times declared, "Clemenza emerges as a musically ravishing and dramatically complex opera of great immediacy."
