Two troubled drifters meet up on a stormy and magical night in the world premiere of Just Wanderer, a fast-paced play about human connection, mystery and love. Bailiwick Repertory Artistic Director David Zak directs.
In this play by Chicago playwright Stephen Cone, a police office named Anthony retreats to a secluded cabin in hopes of reflecting on his life that is slipping away from him. Have the dark and heartbreaking things he has seen in his line of work played a role in his unhappiness? Anthony hopes that by writing down his thoughts he’ll be able to answer the questions that haunt him. But he is soon interrupted by a mysterious young man named Max who barges into the cabin and refuses to leave. Max is full of life, yet also deeply pained. As Max shares pieces of his intriguing life with Anthony, we learn that he may not have stumbled upon Anthony’s hideaway accidentally.
