About This Show

The Waa-Mu show was born as a joint effort of the Women’s Athletic Association and Men’s Union during the 1928-1929 academic year. It soon garnered a reputation as “the greatest college show in America,” and has served as an important launching pad for some of Northwestern’s most talented and respected performers. Under the direction of Dominic Missimi and the baton of Dr. Mallory Thompson, Jubilee! is the 75th edition of this historic show.

The show includes several musical numbers by talented alumni and several new numbers by Northwestern’s current crop of student writers. Thematically, the show celebrates the “special occasions” we all cherish — holidays, birthdays, reunions, and of course, anniversaries. The show includes songs from the earliest years of Waa Mu, including the title song from the first ever Waa Mu show, “Good Morning Glory” in 1929, as well as songs by long-time Waa-Mu alumni composers Lloyd Norlin and Wilson Stone. Jubilee! also honors the work of more recent alumni including renowned composers and lyricists Sheldon Harnick, Larry Grossman, and Jeff Blumenkrantz.
