New York City
The Theatre School at DePaul University, New Playwrights Series, presents In Common Hours, by Andie Arthur, directed by Theatre School
faculty member Carlos Murillo.
Love. Death. War. Sex. The life of Louisa May Alcott is a far darker place than Little Women. Set at the start of the Civil War in the early 1860s, In Common Hours explores the life of Louisa before she became the loveable Aunt Jo, years before she wrote Little Women. The play follows Louisa’s quest to find her own identity – through her struggles with unrequited love, writing and family.
A post-show discussion with the cast follows the performance on Thursday, May 5.
