Piven Theatre Workshop presents Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Joyce Piven. This production is a Chicago premiere and is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
A contemporary re-telling of the classic Orpheus and Eurydice myth, the play is a moving, funny and whimsical love story exploring memory, loss and the passage of time. In contrast to the classic telling of the story from Orpheus’ perspective, this new work tells the tale from the feminine point of view as Eurydice’s personal journey.
