About the Show

It’s Kansas City in 1936, the peak of the city’s legendary jazz era, with jam-packed clubs, recording deals and radio. Oriole Carter, a brilliant black saxophonist, is in the center of it all. When Carter falls for the white girlfriend of a local mobster, he’s forced to face the music.
