Abe Burrow’s comedy gem Cactus Flower was a Broadway and motion picture hit. Bachelor dentist Julian Winston has a sure-fire gimmick to keep himself single: he tells his younger, free-spirited, girlfriend that he is married. It all backfires when he falls in love and does want to marry her. Julian enlists his dedicated yet primly reserved nurse to masquerade as his wife and put an end to the pretend marriage. His attempts to undo his fictitious life unravel, and Julian persuades more friends to help as his web of deceit spins out of control.
