About This Show

BREATH, BOOM by Kia Corthron, follows fourteen years in the life of Prix, a fireworks connoisseur and understated, ruthless leader of a New York girls’ gang, as she travels from the streets to juvenile reformatory to jail and back to the streets again. The production provides a scrapbook of Prix’s life from age 16 to 30 and chronicles her dreams, passions, and hopes as well as violence, pain, and her obsession with fireworks and the lights of the Empire State Building.
