About This Show

Aguijón Theater Company presents Federico García Lorca’s Bodas de sangre (Blood Wedding). Directed by Marcela Muñoz, the play is being performed in Spanish by a cast of local Latino actors.

Based on a true story of love, lust, and betrayal, this is one of the most powerful and innovative plays written last century. Completed in 1932, Lorca’s best known play was inspired by contemporary newspaper accounts of a young bride in Andalusia who abandoned her husband-to-be on their wedding day to escape with her childhood sweetheart.
