New York City
A Still Life in Color, by Philip Dawkins, is an exotic fairy tale involving a princely love triangle in a world where it has been raining for 3,285 straight days. As the waters rise and people drown, it’s up to the prince–and the power of love–to save the day. Zeljko Djukich directs this world premiere.
Written in 2002 under the title “The Day After Yesterday,” the play was a winner of the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre First Annual New Play Festival where it received a staged reading. In March of 2003, Mr. Dawkins was awarded a fellowship by the Hawthorden Castle International Retreat for Writers in Scotland where he further developed the script. TUTA production marks its World Premiere.
