Mamalee Rose & Friends and The HooDoo Loungers

The HooDoo Loungers are a nine-piece band performing music inspired by the rhythms, sounds, history and spirit of New Orleans. The band’s sound encompasses traditional New Orleans Jazz, Brass Band, classic R&B and funk – plus a blend of original music and re-arranged New Orleans classics. Mamalee Rose and Friends is a six-member band with two dynamic lead vocalists that are a mother (Lee Lawler) and daughter (A.Rose Lawler) team. As if that’s not enough, the husband and father (Jimmy Lawler) is the drummer, with Peter (Bosco) Michne on guitar, Josh Brussell on bass and Manhattan’s own Fred Gilde on kickin’ keyboard, who all contribute to supporting vocals. From originals, R&B, soul, rock and standards they have a sound that is all their own. Expect to see a show finale featuring five of the East End’s finest voices ( Mamalee, Rose, Dawnette Darden, Lilly Ann Merat & Marvin Joshua) together for a rousing Gospel stomp-down.
