About This Show

In The Secret Garden, orphan Mary Lennox, having just been shuffled to her Uncle Craven’s drafty mansion on the bleak Yorkshire Moors, discovers a walled garden, neglected and in ruin. She soon meets Dickon, a St. Francis type, and Colin, her tyrannical cousin whose mother died giving birth to him. Together, they find that in their fertile imaginations lies the power to transform lives in this delightful retelling of the classic by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Master marionettist David Simpich utilizes a full cast of hand-carved string puppets to carry the audience on an enchanted journey that begins in a winter of pain and loss, but moves, brilliantly, toward the promise of spring.

Recommended for ages 12 and up.
