About This Show

Puppetmongers, Toronto’s award-winning troupe, serves up a comical cup of justice, humanity and love with Tea at the Palace. What’s a Tsar to do? His court has charged a peasant with treason simply for making tea, he’s fallen for a clever maid beneath his caste, and meddlesome servants only make the situation worse with their ridiculous antics. Exuberant folk music, medieval furniture, opulent wall hangings, babushka puppets, and pop-up scenery with more secrets than the KGB become cozy comrades in this humorous treat steeped in Russian tradition.
