New York City
A gripping drama from the playwright who defined a nation’s conscience, Arthur Miller’s The Price exposes the jealousy and anger between two middle aged brothers. The men meet after sixteen years of estrangement to settle the estate of their selfish father. Passions flare when old wounds are opened revealing the brothers’ complex relationship with each other and their father. Taking place in the attic of a Manhattan brownstone about to be demolished, the four character play centers around Walter Franz, a successful surgeon who drifted away from the family years ago, his brother Victor Franz, a police officer who did not finish college in order to support his ailing father, his wife Esther and Gregory Solomon, a wise, aging antiques dealer.
