Liza Minnelli has followed in the footsteps of her mother Judy Garland to become a legend in the halls of show business. From her Tony award for Flora the Red Menace, to her Oscar for Cabaret, to her Emmy for Liza with A “Z” (recently released on DVD to great critical acclaim), she has known more than her share of triumphs. She continues to tour extensively around the world. Her original version of the theme from the film New York, New York has become cause for celebration, most recently performed by Minnelli at Macy’s July 4th Fireworks during the summer of 2006. Minnelli’s career has recently taken some surprising turns, from her well-received guest-starring role on the Fox TV comedy show Arrested Development, to her newly-announced upcoming role on an episode of Law & Order, to her collaboration with rockers My Chemical Romance on their new album The Black Parade.
