About This Show

Get ready to be transported back to a time of gold stars and smiley faces, of detentions and dunce caps, of incomplete homework but a damn good tale to weave during show-and-tell.

Teacher’s Pet is open mic night with a twist! You can watch what unfolds or be part of the act yourself. Each show has a theme; people sign up for a 5 minute slot; and the sharing begins. At the end of the night, the audience votes on their favorite act who is then dubbed The Teacher’s Pet and is showered with fabulous prizes (many of which have been donated by the national publication Found Magazine). People can read from their seventh grade diaries, share in the form of a song, do an interpretive dance… it’s up to them as long as they stay within the theme of the night.
