About the Show

Passport Playbill, a musical monologue written and performed by Eddie Kirsch, comes to the Crossroads Theatre. The show is a coming of age story of a New Yorker who, in looking back at the visas in his passport, sees the passport metaphorically as a playbill. Through this theatrical viewpoint, he reviews the roles in which he was cast, as foreign countries become stages that record his entries and exits all over the world. His five-year odyssey out of America takes you to the Amsterdam social scene, through Istanbul where his new bride narrowly escapes the clutches of White slave traders to the Opium dens of Bombay. Along the way, he finds his way onto the stage and a direction for his life. His original songs reflect the moments that are depicted in the story.
