Over the Tavern

Over the Tavern is set in Buffalo, New York in the 1950s, the most idealized period of 20th-century America. The play follows the Pazinski family – Mom, Dad and their four children, Eddie, Annie, Georgie and the hero of the tale, Rudy, a precocious 12-year-old who is starting to question family values and the Roman Catholic Church. Rudy believes God put us on earth to “have fun,” and is trying to figure out why his family isn’t having any.
