About This Show

Molly Sweeney is a moving and thought-provoking drama about a young confident, and courageous blind woman, raised by her father, trying to live a full and happy life. Molly only begins to question her reality, which had previously been defined by tactile measures, when she falls in love and marries Frank Sweeney. Frank challenges her blindness as he has tackled all “projects” in his life, until he becomes consumed with the possibility of Molly’s sight being restored. This is a great adventure for Frank and he is pleased with himself to have initiated the “miracle.” The team of
professionals delivering this “miracle” is lead by the once world famous, ophthalmologist, Mr. Rice who has since fallen on hard times. While the three
characters are each on the same quest, they approach the subject of blindness from their own unique reality: a medical condition, a defense mechanism, and reality itself. Are we learning an anatomy lesson or a lesson about life?
