Trumpet virtuoso Orbert Davis, whose Chicago Jazz Philharmonic has twice performed to great acclaim at the Auditorium Theatre, returns as part of a jazz quartet for this intimate evening entitled The Center of the Song: An Evening of Romantic Jazz. One of the area’s busiest and most sought after musicians, Davis has been recognized for the breadth of his oeuvre, which encompasses both jazz and classical work. His work has been featured in the films The Road to Perdition, A League of Their Own, and The Babe, and he has shared the stage with legends including Stevie Wonder, Dr. John, Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Ramsey Lewis, Grover Washington, Jr. and Oscar Lopez.
