About This Show

Victory Gardens Theater presents the Chicago premiere of Sonja Linden’s I Have Before Me a Remarkable Document Given to Me by a Young Lady from Rwanda. Winner of the Time Out London Critic Choice Award, the play tells the inspiring story of Juliette, a survivor of the Rwanda massacres of 1994. Now living in London, she encounters Simon, a well-educated but uninspired and adrift poet, and asks him to help craft a manuscript she has written. Soon Juliette and her would-be mentor make life-changing discoveries about resilience and survival, and the expressive power of the written word.

Victory Gardens Literary Manager/Resident Director Andrea J. Dymond directs the production.
