About This Show

Canamac Productions presents two world premiere one-acts by Winnetka playwright Todd Logan, “Fallout” and “The Playwright…And All That Crap.” The hopeful and often funny full-length, one-act play “Fallout” tells the story of 45-year-old writer Michael’s struggle to recover from losing his wife to the throes of mental illness. It’s told in three scenes: a date that goes awry; an appeal to a hard-nosed self-centered best friend; and a dinner with a mother, who’s convinced she can dictate happiness.

The comedy “The Playwright…And All That Crap” tells the story of a playwright who’s ruminating with his long-suffering wife that he’s writing nothing but…well, crap. Theatre audiences might appreciate that The Playwright of “The Playwright…And All That Crap” might have been the author of the proceeding play, “Fallout.”

Logan is a Chicago Dramatists’ Network Playwright, and these plays were developed in part through their Saturday Series. Two of his one-acts, “Tops or Bottoms” and “Persistence of Vision” ran at Dramatists last summer as well.

There is no show on 7/23, and there’s an added show on 7/24 at 5:00pm.
