About This Show

Noble Fool Theatricals presents Altar Boyz, the smash hit musical comedy’s return to Chicago after three years. This rockin’ revival, directed by Noble Fool’s Artistic Director John Gawlik, music directed by Brett Rowe and choreographed by Gil Mata.

Altar Boyz is about a Christian boy band – Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham (he’s Jewish) – who are singing their final performance of their “Raise the Praise” tour across America with hopes of making it big in New York. They’re determined to save souls and raise spirits while performing their hit songs like “God Put the Rhythm In Me” and “Girl, You Make Me Want to Wait”. The end result is a rockin’, theatrical spoof on the boy band industry.

Conceived by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport, the musical has a book by Kevin Del Aguila and music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker.
