Little Mercy’s First Murder

Little Mercy’s First Murder is a musical-noir, inspired by the famous 1930s celebrity crime photographs of Weegee. The score pays tribute to 30s and 40s music – jazz, Kurt Weill, French chansons, rhumbas and torch songs – but re-invents it and turns it upside down. Book & lyrics are by Morwyn Brebner, with music by Jay Turvey and Paul Sportelli. Eda Holmes directs, with musical direction by Paul Sportelli.
