New York City
Bob and Dave have been happily married for five years. Dave, a composer, is tall, dark, straight acting, cool, calm and collected. Bob, his lyricist, is tall, dark, not so straight acting, and not very collected at all. They are hard at work on a new musical (called Happy!) and very grateful for the help offered by their best friend, script doctor (and committed alcoholic) Sue. Everything is just peachy keen until there is a knock on the door. A very handsome young man stands there. He says he has come to deliver The Evening Star. But to everyone’s surprise, he delivers a whole lot more!
