Theatre 29 proudly announces the premiere performance of their new resident improvisational troupe, Rotating Players Improv. Improv is short for improvisation; a spontaneous ensemble theatre art form where the performers incorporate real-time suggestions from audience members with rather hilarious results
If you’re familiar with the TV show, “Who’s Line is it Anyway” then you get the idea. A group of quick-witted comics play fun games where they quickly become different characters and make up the lines along the way, with skits, props, songs, and more.
The troupe is “controlled” by host and games moderator Liyan McNeltier who decides who plays each game and fields suggestions from audience members. The troupe includes Desert Theatre League multi-award winning hi-desert local performers Jericho McNeltier, Graham Cooley, Benjamin Bees and Charles Harvey.
As their namesake suggests, performances may “rotate” in additional “players” such as a selected improv workshop student and a featured mainstage performer from an upcoming Theatre 29 production.
This highly anticipated inaugural performance takes place Saturday, February 11th at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10 each and are available now at theatre29.org or by calling (760) 361-4151. Come play with us!
