About This Show

It’s the ultimate tap-dancing backstage musical comedy! It’s 42nd Street, a glorious celebration of Broadway and its people. Fresh from Allentown, PA, aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer arrives in Depression-era New York and lands a job in a new musical. But this raw beginner may end up a star when given the chance to step into the spotlight. Winner of the 1981 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 2001 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, its memorable score contains such show-stoppers as "You’re Getting to Be a Habit with Me," "Dames," "We’re in the Money," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" and the title tune.
