Wheel of Fortune is a world premiere play by John Steppling. This performance begins on a sinister and stormy night. A man lies in a comatose heap as his strangely detached wife is interrogated of her role in his mysterious demise. Hospitalized, he communicates to us from his unconscious state as the investigation unfolds. Wresting with his insanity, globalization, obsession and a constant search for connection, the accused and the misunderstood cling to rose gardens, pedigrees, and tarnished memories. John Steppling’s newest play is an acute examination into the struggle to hold onto something real in a rapidly homogenizing and unpredictable world.
