The Name of the Monster is a satire of the Hollywood system, focusing on a special effects artist (Victor) who gets involved over his head after he accidentally kills a famous young actor and brings him back to life (a la Frankenstein) by implanting a microchip in his brain. The operation is a success, but now the actor (who remains nameless, like Dr. Frankenstein’s creation) no longer wants to make Hollywood films. Now the director (Henry), Victor, and the actor’s girlfriend and co-star (Justine) must team up to get the actor back to the set in time for filming!
