The California Shakespeare Theater opens its 2004 Season with William Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Sean Daniels of Dad’s Garage in Atlanta makes his Bay Area directorial debut with this imaginative blend of puppetry and live music.
Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant Dromio come to the city of Ephesus as part of their ongoing quest to find their long-lost twin brothers (also named Antipholus and Dromio). As fate would have it, this time they find them — but they don’t know it. To make matters worse, the father of the Antipholus brothers is also in town — but sentenced to die at 5 p.m. unless he can pay up a large sum of money. As the two sets of twins unknowingly bring chaos and confusion to Ephesus, the fate of their family hangs in the balance — but not without a few more surprises.
