Before Sally Kellerman was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as “Hot Lips Houlihan” in Robert Altman’s masterpiece M*A*S*H, she’d recorded her first album for Verve Records and sang regularly in clubs in and around Los Angeles. Now, several dozen films later (including the classic comedy Back to School starring Rodney Dangerfield), she’s back on stage, singing a soulful mix of jazz, blues and original material by her musical partner-in-crime, Chris Caswell. Caswell, who is enjoying a long stay atop the Billboard jazz charts through his collaboration with Karrin Allyson (8 weeks at #1), has written songs specifically for Sally that playfully and poignantly address the up and downside of love, relationships, and the human condition.
