New York City
CAT’S-PAW: A MEDITATION ON THE DON JUAN THEME by Mac Wellman, directed by Christine Young. Four real women are highlighted against the amazing background of New York?s skyscrapers, as they discuss their lives, loves and losses. The play is set in what is ?optimistically referred to as Late Capitalism? and chronicles the experiences of 3 generations as they struggle to live their lives and not succumb to the forces that threaten to overwhelm the individual in modern society. Wellman?s hallmark as a writer is his unique use of language, making up words if necessary to evoke the truth underlying the simple externals of everyday relationships.
