Craig Slaight’s Across the Universe With Lennon and McCartney focuses on twelve young people living through the tumultuous 1960s. Through music and spoken dialogue they face the great challenges and joys of the era, from the war in Vietnam to the “Summer of Love.” 25 Beatles songs provide the backbone of the piece, including the hits “Wait,” “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “P.S. I Love You,” “Help!,” “We Can Work It Out,” “Nowhere Man,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “All You Need is Love,” “When I’m Sixty-Four,” “The Long and Winding Road,” “Revolution,” “Blackbird,” “Let It Be,” and “In My Life.” Krista Wigle is the musical director, with choreography by Christine Mattison.
