About This Show

Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Misérables is an epic saga that sweeps through three turbulent decades of 19th century France. It is also the story of one man, the fugitive Jean Valjean, who is pitted against the cruel and self-righteous Inspector Javert in a lifelong struggle to evade capture. Les Misérables has won 50 major awards internationally, including the 1987 Tony Award for Best Musical. The Broadway production ended its 16-year run in May 18, 2003, and is the second longest running show in Broadway history. This National Tour is the only production of Les Misérables currently in the United States.
