New York City
Big, bold Sledgehammer-style spectacle hits the stage at St. Cecilia’s Playhouse when San Diego’s most progressive theatre company opens August Strindberg’s masterpiece A Dream Play. Sledgehammer Artistic Director Kirsten Brandt is directing this world premiere adaptation translated by Dr. Anne-Charlotte Harvey.
The play follows the God Indra’s Daughter as she descends to the earth to see if mankind’s complaints are justified. When she arrives, she embarks on a human life, one of wonder and fear, hope and strife, joy and disappointment. The play is a symbolic journey through the human experience.
