About This Show

EXTENDED! New performance dates for 2004.

The American Renegade Theatre and CRC Entertainment in association with George Siafaris present the world premiere of Annie Pie’s Wild Mushrooms.

The modern day comedy, set in the Bronx, revolves around Benny Scrivente, a widowed postal worker and his family, as seen through the eyes of his thirteen year old wise-mouthed son, prodigy and new darling of the expose literary set, Joey. Benny also struggles to raise his two beautiful daughters, Dodie and Regina, trying to get them married off the old-fashioned Italian way, but sensual Regina prefers to play the field, while sweet, simple-minded Dodie is already engaged to Mario Bellohomo, a man of questionable character. Benny’s dream is to open his own trattoria and proud of her father’s cooking Dodie unwittingly invites a few of Mario’s friends over for Sunday dinner. Their guests include attorney Eviel Kharren, The Don and his co-hort Angelo Pecorino, but clairvoyant Aunt Rose, the bane of Benny’s existence and Joey’s champion, saves the day with her unorthodox choice of hors d’oeuvers. T.J. Castronovo directs.
