Pacific Resident Theatre presents Daisy Foote’s new play When They Speak of Rita. Daughter of celebrated writer Horton Foote, Daisy brings a recognizable similarity of sensitivity and honesty to her work. Karen Landry Mulkey directs.
Set in present day New Hampshire, Rita Potter finds herself trapped in the mundane circumstances of her days while longing to escape that intricate fabric of "the simple life." She aches for a means to feed her soul, to feel a sense of accomplishment and achievement…and genuine happiness. Taking a chance on an unlikely love affair may lead her on just the journey she needs to discover the courage of self actuation…but the results could destroy everything around her.
