The plot of Urinetown centers around an immense drought that has curtailed the city’s water supply and the government has privatized the public restrooms. The public bathrooms are managed by a greedy corporation called “Urine Good Company,” whose CEO, Cadwell B. Cladwell, maintains a monopoly on the amenities of the entire city. Bobby Strong and his crew of unlikely revolutionists rally to take down the corrupt Cladwell whose squad of rabble-rousers sees that nobody pees for free. Of course, there is a standard love story intertwined throughout, and the ensuing confrontation of good versus evil rises to an unexpected finale.
