For the first time in over 80 years, the “lost” and newly restored Gershwin musical, Tip-Toes, receives a full staging. It is the story of Tip-Toes and her two uncles, vaudevillians known as “The Three Kayes,” who travel down to Palm Beach, Florida and try to pass themselves off as “swells” in the hopes of landing Tip-Toes a rich husband. But she learns that she can only find true love (and a millionaire) by just being herself. With music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin and a book by Guy Bolton and Fred Thompson, Tip-Toes includes such standards as “Sweet and Low-Down,” “That Certain Feeling,” and “Looking for a Boy.”
