The Year of the Dragon

Welcome to Fred Eng’s Chinatown tours! The Year of the Dragon, directed by EWP Founding Artistic Director Mako, is written by the playwright many consider to be godfather of Asian-American theater. This play caused an enormous uproar when it was first produced in 1974. It not only influenced a generation of APA writers, but is also had a profound impact on an entire generation of Asian-Americans.
