About This Show

Updated to the Roaring Twenties, this riotous staging marries the brilliance of Mozart’s comic gem with the flair of a classic Hollywood comedy. En route from Istanbul to Paris, two beautiful damsels in distress are held captive aboard the luxurious Orient Express by a notorious Ottoman royal. It’s up to their faithful lovers to rescue them before it’s too late!

James Conlon conducts a brilliant ensemble of soloists, including soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, returning to our stage for the first time since her extraordinary 2011 debut as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Bass Morris Robinson returns as the Pasha’s delightfully nefarious henchman Osmin.
