About This Show

With words and music by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, two of the originators of classic rock ‘n roll, this high-powered evening of entertainment aims to get audiences dancing in their seats. The sassy revue of Smokey Joe’s Cafe features nearly 40 of the greatest rock & roll songs ever recorded, such as “On Broadway,” “Hound Dog,” “Stand By Me,” and “Fools Fall in Love.” Kathy Brombacher, Artistic Director, selected this revue for the season because the Grammy award-winning song writing duo composed tunes in which each lyric is a self-contained story about “the Neighborhood” as originally conceived by Jerry Zaks.
