Simply Maria or the American Dream

Simply Maria or the American Dream is a wildly funny play which tells the story of Maria, a young Latina aspiring to be an actress, and her dream of going to college. The story begins in Mexico with Maria’s parents eloping, and follows the family through life in Los Angeles, as Maria struggles against the expectations her parents have for her and what she dreams of for herself. Simply Maria is a touching and funny exploration of growing up a Latina woman in California.
