About the Show

Theatre Tribe presents the Southern California premiere of Craig Wright’s Recent Tragic Events.

A blind date on September 12th, 2001 brings together a series of odd coincidences in the shadow of the September 11th attacks. Andrew arrives to pick up Waverly, whose identical twin lives in New York and has not been heard of since the attacks. They spend the night with Waverly’s eccentric neighbor Ron, his girlfriend and the author, Joyce Carol Oates (played by a sock puppet) as they wait to hear from Waverly’s twin. The award winning Theatre Tribe under the direction of Stuart Rogers, presents this humorous and touching look at this momentous and tragic event in our recent history.

Variety called the play “…a poignant, thought-provoking, and yes, essentially amusing piece on the subject of 9/11.” The Washington Post “…clever, sharply drawn…very funny…”

Appropriate For Ages: 18 and up
