On a plantation in 1828 Louisiana, against the backdrop of a slave insurrection, Manon, a spoiled young beauty, and Sarah, her servant, are locked in a psychological struggle forged by circumstance. Although divided by class and race, they are united in their hatred of Gaudet, Manon’s tyrannical husband who has forced Sarah to become his mistress.
