Operalia: The World Opera Competition

Operalia returns to Los Angeles for the third time! Created by Plácido Domingo to discover the best emerging young opera singers of our day, the prestigious international vocal competition will bring 40 of the world’s most promising young singers to compete on our stage over the course of one week. Out of more than a thousand initial applicants from every corner of the globe, only ten singers will make it to the final round of competition, which takes the form of a concert with Plácido Domingo conducting the LA Opera Orchestra.
